Ramnagar Wildlife Sanctuary, sited at a stone's throw distance of 6 km from Jammu city covers a moderate area of 31.5 sq. km. The sanctuary is famed for the large varieties of wild animals like the Neelgai and the Barking Deer. The sanctuary is a real treat for bird lovers and ornithologists who wait patiently in the tranquil quietude to get a glimpse of the colored plumes or a tuneful twitter from the White Cheeked Bulbul, Red Jungle Fowl, Jungle Crow, Blue Rock Pigeon, Peafowl, Indian Mynah and Golden Oriole.
