Research and Development Center for Iron and Steel (RDCIS) is actually the corporate research and development division of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) which takes up projects on research and development in various fields of Iron and Steel Technology in various groups. The center was established at Ranchi in 1972. The center is proud to be certified as an ISO 9001 center.

Plant Performance Improvement Research and Development Center for Iron and Steel at Jharkhand provides its research scientists with a laboratory which is furnished with over 300 sophisticated diagnostic research instruments and 5 pilot plant facilities. The center has around 300 dedicated souls as its research scientist�s team.
