An renowned film producer, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy, the Chief Minister of Karnataka entered active politics in the year 1994. Born on the 16th of December 1959 in a small village of Haradana Halli in the Hassan district of Karnataka, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy is said to possess a versatile character which is manifest in the various roles that he has played so far.

Honorable Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy rose into prominence in the year 1996 when he was elected to the Parliament with a landslide victory over his opponent. Shri H. D. Kumaraswami is believed to have championed the causes of the rural and urban poor. He also fought for the rights of the backward classes of the state. The Chief minister encouraged young and talented individuals to join the JD-S party and bring about revolutionary reforms in the state.

Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy is one of the most successful Chief Minister of the state who believes in hard work and sincerity. As a Chief Minister of one of the most progressive state of India, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy brought about drastic change in the economy and social structure of the state.

Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy started his career in the film industry of Karnataka where he successfully played the dual role of a distributor and a producer, prior to his political career. He is said to have distributed almost two hundred films in the various districts of Karnataka. However, owing to his versatile character, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy later switched over to the role of a producer. As a producer, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy produced several films.

As an able and down to earth Chief Minister, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy will help Karnataka to become the most progressive and developed state of India.
