The telecommunications sector of Karnataka is a highly efficient network which is constituted of fiber-optic cables and microwave routes. They run through the entire length of the extensive coastal regions and rural regions of the state, not to speak of the highly advanced urban centers.
Today, the telecommunications sector at Karnataka is one of the most advanced networks in the country. The whole credit for this goes to the privatization brought into the telecommunication sector of Karnataka. The government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) too has a wide control on the telecommunications sector of Karnataka. The company is planning to double the number of its mobile connections in the state within a short span of time.
