Karnataka Housing Board



There are three major Karnataka Boards and Commissions. The Karnataka Boards and Commissions are Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Roerich and Devika Rani Roerich Estate Board and Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC).

  • Karnataka State Pollution Control Board: One of the important Karnataka Boards and Commissions is Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, constituted in 1974 in pursuance of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 .

    Objectives:

  • To prevent and control pollution of streams and wells in Karnataka.
    • To advise the State Government on any issue related to the prevention and control of water and air pollution.
    • Collection and dissemination of information related to water pollution and air pollution.


    • Roerich and Devika Rani Roerich Estate Board: It is one of the important Karnataka Boards and Commissions. Karnataka has inherited the rich heritage of Dr. Svetoslav Roerich, the legendary artist. The state government is intent to see that the heritage of the renowned artist is not frittered away.

      Objectives:

    • To refurbish the residence of Dr. Svetoslav Roerich and the adjoining studio
    • To display some great works of the ace artist and charts describing his activities and ideals in the studio
    • To erect an international center for creative arts and some galleries for exhibitions, dormitories and guest rooms for artists


    • Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission: It is one of the major Karnataka Boards and Commissions. Restructuring of the power sector has become essential with more and more investments pouring into the state of Karnataka. Therefore, Karnataka government has enacted the Karnataka Electricity Reform Act 1999 and set up the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC).

      Objectives:

    • Professional and transparent regulation of all aspects of the electricity sector.
    • To consider consumers' interests.
    • To supply reliable and cheap power supply for the economic and social development of Karnataka.
