- Dussera - Dussera is celebrated for 10 days in Karnataka. This festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil. On this day, myth says that Goddess Durga got victory over the evil demon Mahisasura. Therefore, on this day people celebrate by lighting lamps in the evening and bursting fire crackers at night.
- Kar Hunnive - This festival is observed on the Full Moon Day of the Jayestha month, according to the lunar calendar. The festival begins by worshiping the bullocks and the other agricultural implements.
- Shravan Mondays - In the Shravan, on the Mondays, people offer special worship at the temple of Shidlingappa. Many devotees observe partial fasting on this day.
- Nagarpanchami - Nagarpanchami falls on the 5th day of the bright half lunar month, i.e. Shravana. On this day, it is customary that the newly weds will visit their parents. Moreover, swings are put up in the village during the Shravan month. The religious part of the festivities is that people offer prayers to cobras and snakes.
