Udupi

Udupi lies about 60 kilometers from the city of Mangalore, Karnataka. Udupi was the home to the founder of Dwaitha philosophy, the famous sage Madhwacharya, who lived about 700 years ago. It was Madhwacharya who established the famous eight Sanyasi Mutts at Udupi of Karnataka. Udupi is considered to be one of the seven Muktistala pilgrimage sites in Karnataka.
