Reliance to set up art studio in Kolkata

The Chief minister of West Bengal, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee announced in the Assembly on 3rd July 2008 that Reliance will set up a state of the art studio in the Kolkata city.

According to the Chief Minister, The Tollygunge Studio will be upgraded by the state government and sophisticated gadgets for the Roopkala Kendra in Salt Lake will be donated by the Italian government. The Chief Minister also clarified that the state government will not set up any film city in Siliguri. There are proposals to set up a studio by film actor Soumitra Chatterjee and renovation of Movieton studio by Biplab Chatterjee but no concrete proposals have yet been submitted by them.

Automobile engineering institute to come up in Kolkata

George Telegraph Training Institute in association with Mukesh Himatsingka Group announced the launch of a private automobile engineering institute in kolkata city. This institute, named George Telegraph Institute of Automobile Engineering (GTIAE), is expected to generate trained manpower for the automobile sector. The students enrolling in the institute for the session starting this October will be offered a 24-month course called the Advanced Automobile Technology. Admissions for this session have already started from June 30. The minimum educational qualification required for a candidate to get admitted to this course is clearing the Class X Board examinations with satisfactory marks.
