The beach gets its name from the 35 meter tall Lighthouse, placed on the top of a hillock called Karumkal Hill. The Lighthouse Beach is the largest among the three beaches in Kovalam. The Lighthouse can be reached by foot.
This beautiful castle was built by the Regent Queen Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi of Travancore in 1932. Later this castle was converted into a luxury hotel. There are some areas in the castle where non-guests can also visit for free.
