Kangra is a splendidly beautiful valley in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The headquarters of the Kangra district is Dharamshala. Thousands of tourists come to the valleys of Kangra to see the following places:

  • Martyr's Memorial was constructed in 1972, in Civil Lines, to honor the soldiers and officers of Kangra district who laid their life in the wars between India nad China in 1962 and India nad Pakisthan in the years 1947-48, 1965 and1971 and also in the peace operations of United Nations.

  • Kareri Lake is a pleasant spot located 13 km from Kareri village, at an altitude of 3,048 meters above the sea level.

  • Naddi is located 2,000 meters above the sea level and it is nearly 2 kilometers from Mcleod Ganj Kangra Art Museum exhibits artifacts dating back to the 5th Century. It displays a gallery of sculptures, coins, jewellery, manuscripts, pottery and anthropological items.

  • Pong Dam is also known as the Maharana Prathap Sagar. It is a wonderful reservoir where one can indulge in various types of water sports like Water Skiing, Sailing, Rowing, etc.

  • Masroor Temple is situated about 22 km from Kangra and 40 Kms from Dharamshala. The temple enshrines the idols of Ram, Lakshman and Sita which have been prepared from black stone.

  • Kangra Fort was constructed by Bhuma Chand, who was the founder of the Katoch Dynasty. It is situated on the Banks of the River Ban Ganga. Near the Fort there are temples dedicated to the Laxmi Narayan and Adinath.

    Some of the other tourist destination of Kangra are Naddi, Bir or Billing, Mcleodganjm, WaterfManali are Dal Lake, Mannuni Lake, Nurpur Fort, Masroor Temple, Gopalpur Zoo, Church, Mural, Truind, and Kareri Lake etc.
