Narkanda
Situated at a distance of 65 kilometers from the city of Simla, the city of Narkanda is reputed as a ski resort that livens up in the winter months when the snow clad mountain slopes are populated with the adventure seekers and gallant skiers. The region of Narkanda is also reputed for the growth of apples in the orchards that lie in abundance in the city.
The mountain sport of skiing was first introduced in the region in the year 1980 and has since then gained popularity among the national and the international tourists who arrive at Narkanda to engage in the sporting activities. HPTDC provides training courses for the beginners in the sport of skiing. Skiing regions have also been marked on the slopes of Narkanda. The tracts for the advanced skier and the novice are separately laid.
