Manali Palaces personify the majestic grandeur of the past rulers who once dominated the land. The palace of Rana Dhadhia in Kullu, known by the name of Chehni Kothi, is one of the must-visit edifice which can be easily arrived at from Manali. During the time of construction this castle was a 15 storey structure but due to massive earthquake today only ten storeys have left.
The Naggar palace is another enticing structure which can be reached from Manali within a very short time period. The three storey palace is believed to be 504 years old and is a major architectural landmark near Manali. Currently, the Naggar palace is a famous rest house where tourists coming from all over the world stay for some time.
Although most of the palaces in and around Manali are still kept in their original form, some of these were also transformed into luxurious hotels and resorts. This has been done not only to improve the commercial prospects but also to give a new perspective to the edifices.
It can be said that Manali Palaces represent the imperial tradition of the place quite efficiently.
