The emerging industrial town of Parwanoo is the gateway to the state of Himachal Pradesh from Haryana. Lying along the National Highway No. 22, the region rises to an altitude of 470 meters from sea level. With the newly born factories of the region, the small village has surfaced as one of the popularly visited places to see around Manali. Lying by the National Highway, the region is easily accessible to the tourists from the major cities of North India.
Renuka is the largest lake in the state of Himachal Pradesh and is shaped like the reclining woman. The underground springs that have erupted in the region drain the lake region. Spread across the sprawling area of 2.5 kilometers, the lake is one of the prime attractions of the small hamlet of Parwanoo.
Lying at a short distance are the small towns of Dagshai and Subathu. The towns were earlier the cantonment area of the Britishers. The gabled houses and the alleys of the region are remnant of the colonial rule of the British in the region. Subathu is still a cantonment and retains the ruinous remains of the ancient Gurkha Fort. A tour of Parwanoo is incomplete without a visit to the colorful Mughal gardens in the city of Pinjore. The city lies at a distance of 10 kilometers from Parwanoo.
Regular buses and hired private cars traverse the route to Parwanoo. The closest airport to the city lies at Chandigarh that is at a distance of 22 kilometers from the city.
