There are many wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in and around Manali. The diverse and varied wildlife in these parks of Himachal Pradesh are a rich resource for the people here. The Manali wildlife parks are among the major tourist destinations in this Indian state.

The Manali Sanctuary is located about two kilometers away from the town. This wildlife park of Manali formally came into existence in the year of 1954. The exquisite greenery of this park covers a land area of about three thousand one hundred and eighty hectares.

The wildlife attractions in this sanctuary in Manali include Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Flying Fox, Stripped Hyena, Himalayan Tahr and Kashmir Flying Squirrels. A visitor can also enjoy the sight of Leopards, Brown Bears and Goral playing around. There are also many Serows, Himalayan Yellow Throated Martens and in this sanctuary. Further attractions of this wildlife sanctuary include the Flying Fox, Indian Hare, Barking Deer and Palm Civet.
