Manipur, one of the seven sisters that form northeastern India, is trying its level best to boost up its economy. The Manipur economy is mainly dependent on agriculture but is also supported by several small scale industries.

Nearly 7700 small scale industries that include cottage industries, village industries, handicrafts as well as handlooms have been set up in Manipur.
