The Manipur Government is led by the Honorable Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Shri Okram Ibobi Singh. The chief minister is aided in the governance of the state by the council of ministers, which spearhead the separate departments of the government.
The government of Manipur has incorporated several plans and launched pilot projects to facilitate the government in the governance of the state. The NIC Manipur aids the government in developing the portals and lists the records for the use of the various departments of the government. The Community Information Center in Manipur is an instrument developed by the government to utilize the information technology to make selective data available to the people of the state. The government has developed the infrastructure to support the development of the program. Various sectors of the society has facilitated from the presence of the information on the websites developed at the Community Information Center in Manipur.
The forest region of the state of Manipur is maintained by the Forest Department of Manipur that was established in the year 1931 by the British Government. Prior to the establishment of this department, the revenue of the forested region of Manipur was shared between the state and the Cachar Forest division.
The Imphal Municipal Council is responsible for the administration of the two districts of Imphal East and Imphal West. The democratic body works effectively for the socio economical progress of the Class I city of Imphal.
