6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Bay of Bengal

Eastern and northern parts of India were hit by an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 (Richter scale) on Wednesday, 21st May, 2014. Bay of Bengal is reported to be the epicentre, approx. 275 km South-East of Paradip Garh. While the nearby states, namely, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand felt moderate tremors of the quake, parts of North India was mildly jolted. So far, no loss of life or property has been reported.
