Chhattisgarh's Sukma Attack: 24 CRPF Jawans Killed in Encounter with Naxals As per reports, around 24 CRPF personnel died and six other were critically injured in an attack by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday. The CRPF personnel are from 74th battalion. They were deployed in the area for anti-naxals operations. The attack took place between Burkapal and Chintagufa area in south Bastar, around 12.25pm. Reports also say that the Naxals looted all the weapons, wireless and other belongings of the slain jawans.
44 Dead in Bus Accident in Himachal Pradesh As per reports, a major bus accident in remote Chopal area of Shimla district led to the death of 44 people on Tuesday. Authorities mentioned that death toll may rise even more as 56 people were travelling in the bus. Reports also say that the bus was on its way to Tyuni. Uttarakhand. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams from Chakrata and Dehradun are heading to the site for relief and rescue operations.
Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express Derails Near Rampur As per reports, eight coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed on Saturday morning at 8.15 am near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. 12 people were reportedly injured, while three of them are in critical condition. There was no report of any casualties. Medical teams are on the site and operations are being supervised by the DRM Muradabad. 6 M Earthquake Hits Andaman & Nicobar Islands A strong earthquake of 6 magnitude struck Andaman & Nicobar islands at 8.21 am onTuesday. With a depth of 10km, the epicentre of the quake was in the Nicobar islands region. There was no report of any loss of life or property. Another earthquake of 3.6 magnitude occurred at 5.48 am at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir.
Location map of the bus accident in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh Reports revealed that at least seven people were killed and more than 30 others were injured after a  Visakhapatnam-bound bus they were travelling fell in a canal in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. M 5.8 Earthquake Strikes Uttarakhand An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude hit Uttarakhand on Monday at 10.33 pm. Tremors of the quake were felt in parts of north India, including Delhi, Gurgaon and Punjab. Reports say that slight tremors were felt in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh as well. However, there is no report of any damage yet. The epicentre of the earthquake was near Ukimath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand with a depth of seven kilometres.
Sealdah-Ajmer Train Derails: 43 Injured As per reports, 15 coaches of the 12987 Sealdah-Ajmer Express derailed at Rura near Kanpur this morning and killed two persons, injuring at least 43. According to a police official, eight people are in critical condition. The train went off track while crossing a bridge over a dry canal, around 70 km from Kanpur. Cyclone Nada, which is weakening, is expected to make landfall early Friday near Cuddalore.
