Terror Attack in Jammu and Kashmir

A man has been killed and four injured during an attack at an army camp by heavily armed militants in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. The wounded have been taken to Government Medical College Hospital.

The army and police teams have been successful in obstructing further movement of the militants by blocking them near a college in Kathua’s Janglote area. Since then the two sides have been involved in a massive gunfire.

Reportedly, today at 5 in the morning, the militants stopped a car on the Jammu-Pathankote highway and shot the occupants. One was killed in the incident and three hurt. The militants escaped in the car and later took shelter near an army camp in Janglote. At the camp, the militants fired at Army men, during which a soldier was wounded.

A police officer said, “Three persons wearing Army uniform intercepted a SUV, forced out the occupants and opened fire on them at Tarnah Nallah bridge in Dayala Chak belt of Kathua district around 0500 hours.”

It has been suspected that the militants had plans to attack during the LS polls. Essential measures have been taken to upgrade security in Samba, Kathua, and Jammu districts as well as at the Army camps.

As per the latest reports, the security forces, after a two-hour chase, have killed two alleged terrorists who were hiding under a bridge.
