This town is also known for the large scale public sector enterprises it is home to, namely; BHEL(Bharat Heavy Electricians Ltd), BDL (Bharat Dynamics Ltd), where India's most powerful missile PRITHVI is being produced, Ordanance Factory (who manufacture tankers for the Indian army). Sangareddi is also famous for Pathancheruvu, which is the biggest industrial corridor in Asia- making this town the industrial capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Sangareddi is also famous for Manjeera water, which is the sweetest and purest water found in Andhra Pradesh. The town is also known for the field hockey team whicn represented the Medak District from 1986 to 1991.
This little town is also famous for the various temples in and around the vicinity, which draw many pilgrims during the festive season. The most popular temple here is the Ramalingeshwara Temple, located at a place called Nandi Kandi which is 15 kms away from Sangareddi. This temple, constructed by the Kalyana Chalukya Empire is famous for its unique architecture, considering that the temple is constructed in the shape of a star.
