New Delhi World Book Fair 2018

The New Delhi World Book Fair 2018 is one of the biggest book fairs in the Afro-Asian countries. The fair is organised by the National Book Trust of India, Ministry of Human Development, Government of India, every year in India. The India Trade Promotion Organisation will serve as the co-organiser of the Book Fair. Scheduled to be held between 6 to 14 January 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the fair will be inaugurated by the Union HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on 6 January 2018.

Organiser: National Book Trust

The National Book Trust (NBT) has been set up by the Government of India to build reading skills in the people of the country. The NBT has been organising the New Delhi World Book Fair every year in India to provide a platform for readers and publishers to come together.

Co-organiser: India Trade Promotion Organisation

The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) is an agency maintained under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. It is responsible for providing trading and marketing services to promote Indian interests overseas. The headquarters of the organisation are located at Pragati Bhawan, New Delhi.

Theme of World Book Fair 2018

The New Delhi World Book Fair 2018 will be based on the theme “Environment and Climate Change”. A special pavilion has been established to display books related to the theme of 2018.

Guest of Honour Country:

The European Union, with its 28 member states, is going to be the Guest of Honour Country at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2018.

The endeavor is supported by the National Arts Council (NAC) and the Media Development Authority (MDA) to give recognition to the authors, publishers, illustrators and other key players who are a part of Japan's publishing industry. It will feature the authors who write in languages like English and Japanese; illustrators of graphic novels and children's picture books; and publishers of poetry, fiction, non-fiction and academic books.
