Baramula District
Baramula, the largest district of Kashmir valley in terms of area covers 4588 sq. km and is enclosed between Kupwara in the North, Budgam and Poonch in the South, parts of Srinagar and Ladakh in the East and has the line of control in its west.
As per the 2001 Census Baramula has recorded a population of 11.51 lakhs. This district ranked first also in terms of population has an economy where people primarily focus on agriculture, horticulture and industries for their subsistence.
