Doda District

Stretching from 32 degree-53' and 34degree-21' north latitude to 75°-1' and 76°-47' east longitude and spread over 11,69 sq. km Doda District of Jammu & Kashmir is the third largest district in terms of area.

Having recoded a population of 5.25 lakhs with 904 females per 1000 males, the people of Doda practice agriculture, horticulture, pisciculture and forestry and also work in allied industries to earn their living.

Tourism in Doda has tremendous potential. The lush, verdant meadows of Lal Draman and Dal Draman with their fir and deodar forests, the pristine Sarthal Temple and the Kailash Yatra and Gupt Ganga and Vasukinag pilgrimages attract tourists by the droves. Besides Doda is a real treat for adventure enthusiasts with its numerous trekking zones of enchanting scenic beauty.
