Oommen Chandy, the current chief minister of Kerala was born on 31st October 1943 into a well off Syrian Christian family at Puthuppally, kottayam district, Kerala. He went college to the CMS College Kottayam & SB College; Changanassery. He has also acquired a degree in law. He began his political career as an activist in KSU (Kerala Student Union) party and since then he has never looked back. Oommen Chandy swore in as the Chief Minister of Kerala for the second time on May 18th 2011.
