Film Capital: Bollywood
Bollywood, the world’s largest film industry is located in Mumbai. With constant creative work Bollywood boasts about producing more than 900 films a year. Full of dance, melodrama, action, songs, flashy accessories, heroic acts, and skimpily dressed heroines keep the viewers glued to the screens for 3 long hours and sometimes even more. Bollywood films have reached a high level with new camera and editing techniques, winning national and international awards and also participating in national and various international film festivals.


Other Tourists Attractions:
There are more to be captured in Mumbai than just the Bollywood film industry.

  • Gateway of India: was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. It is Mumbai’s most famous monument and is considered as the starting point for most of the visitors.

  • Marine Drive: also known as the Manhattan of Mumbai. Taking a stroll down the Marine Drive is the best way to discover the capital city of Maharashtra.

  • Juhu Beach: Juhu beach is one of the busiest beaches of Maharashtra with thousands of visitors as well as local people crowding there every day. Famous for its “Mumbaia” snacks like bhelpuri, batatapuri and pav bhaji, the glimpse of many celebrities walking down the beach is a perfect retreat for all the tourists.

  • Essel World: The arrays of international games and rides in these fun parks and are perfect destinations for visitors of all age. There are food stalls of mouth watering delicacies inside these fun parks.

  • Jehangir Art Gallery: Located at Kala Ghoda, the Jehangir Nicholson Museum of Modern Art has been constructed in 1952. The Art Gallery has four halls for exhibition of Arts and is managed by Bombay Art Society.

  • Siddhivinayak Temple: is located near the Prabhadevi area of Mumbai. The Bhima River near the temple flowing southwards does not make any sound while flowing. Thousands of visitors come here to witness this mysterious creation of nature.

  • Malabar Hill: this place is most famous for the Hanging Garden, Kamla Nehru Park and the Parsi Towers of Silence. People of higher income group mainly reside in its residential area.

  • Mumbai Shopping Festival 2008: Mumbai Shopping Festival or MSF 2008 is a part of the Mumbai Festival to be held in January 2008 in Mumbai which brings together the cultural and commercial fiesta of the city.



  • Getting There:
    Mumbai being the capital of Maharashtra and the commercial capital of India is very well connected to India and the rest of the world. The two domestic and international airports are located at a distance of 4 km from each other. Mumbai central railway and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is connected with all parts of India. Bus, taxi, auto, and car services are also available.
