Hanging Garden

The hanging garden of Mumbai is located on the slopes of a hill making the garden look hanging from the cliff. The Hanging Garden was built in 1880 and is also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Garden. It’s an ecstasy to watch the sun go down into the Arabian Sea in the evening from the Hanging Garden.

The park was laid over a huge reservoir which can carry 30 million gallons of water supplied to the town. The Parsi towers of silence are also located near this park and it is said that the Hanging Garden was built on this water tank in order to save water from being contaminated.

Hanging Garden is full of colorful flowers, shady trees and lush green lawns. This is a perfect place where one can breathe fresh and pollution free air. It park is engulfed in quiet solitude. It is a favorite place for the morning walkers and joggers and also for the couples in the evenings.

Just opposite to the Hanging Garden is the Kamala Nehru Park. It remains open from 5 am to 9 pm.

Getting There:
The best way to reach the Hanging Garden is by hiring a taxi. Local buses are also available from Mumbai city. Mumbai is very well connected by roads, railways and airways with all the cities of Maharashtra as well as India.
