Mandwa and Kihim Beach

120 km from Mumbai, towards the north of Alibag is the Mandwa and Kihim Beach. The Mandwa and Kihim Beach is an ideal place to spend some time away from the hustle bustle of the city. With overwhelming scenic beauty Mandwa and Kihim Beach are worth visiting.

Tourists come here to get the magnificent glimpse of the Gateway of India, on a clear day, from the Mandwa beach. But the most popular tourist attraction of these two beaches is the tent holiday at Kihim. Dense woods, varieties of rare and wild flowers, butterflies, birds – there is everything one can dream about in a holiday.

The other places nearby worth visiting are the Kobala Fort, towers of St. Barbara and Chaul. Chaul is about 15km from Alibag. It’s a historic place with remnants of Portuguese ruins, Buddhist caves, Hamam Khana, Church, Temples and a synagogue.

One can also indulge into water sports like surfing.

Nearest airport is in Mumbai. Nearest rail station is in Panvel which is about 85 km from Konkan Railways. Mandwa and Kihim is well connected by road.
