Travel 546km from Mumbai or 6km from Malvan and you will reach Tarkarli on the west coast of India. Tarkarli is situated at the estuary of River Karli and the Arabian Sea. The narrow stretch of the Tarkarli beach has very clear water. On a clear day the seabed could be seen even 20 ft deep. Bestowed with the natural beauty of the wide Karli River, tiny islands, tall Suru trees in the background and beautiful sailboats, Tarkarli beach looks more panoramic.
The nearest attractions to Tarkarli beach are the Sindhudurg Fort and Padmagarh Fort. Sindhudurg fort is Maharashtra’s most important sea fort and was built in the 17th century.

The nearest railway station is Kudal on the Konkan Railway. Bus services are also available from Mumbai and Malvan. Rickshaws are also available from Malvan. Spending a vacation in the Tarkarli’s government resort near the beach is an exotic experience.
