Velneshwar Beach

Velneshwar lies to the north of Shastri River. Away from the concrete walls of the city lives, the Velneshwar beach offers an ideal escape into a land of quietness. The coconut trees and rock free sea water makes Velneshwar a perfect destination for swimming and sunbathing.

Besides sunbathing to the glory of sands or indulging into some water sport, another attraction of Velneshwar is the old Shiva Temple which is visited by many tourists and pilgrims. The ideal time to visit this temple is during the Maha Shivratri in March when a huge fair is held in honor of Lord Shiv.

Getting There:
Velneshwar is 370 km from Mumbai. It can be reached by road from Mumbai via Chiplun and Guhagar. The nearest rail station is Chiplun. A government resort is located near the beach.
