PSLV Sucessfully injects two satellites, CARTOSAT-1 and HAMSAT

The PSLV C6 rocket has successfully launched the two satellites, Cartosat 1 and Hamsat into the space.

The 1560 kg remote sensing satellite Cartosat I and a 42.5 kg microsatellite Hamsat took off perfectly from the new state of the art launch pad which, has been built at a cost of Rs 400 crore.

A rocket carrying the 1,560 kg remote sensing satellite and the Hamsat, a light satellite meant exclusively for amateur radio operators in South Asia takes off from Sriharikota on Thursday. The Cartosat, with its twin cameras can provide images of natural disasters, land and water resources and environmental changes in South Asia.

This is the first time that Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has used PSLV for carrying two Indian satellites.
