Tremors were felt in the Delhi and parts of northern India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi-NCR and parts of Pakistan as well.

As per a MET department official, the moderate intensity earthquake measured around 5.7 on the Richter scale around 12.27 PM on 1st May 2013. The depth of the earthquake is said to be 9.8 km underground.

The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be originated on the border Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, 17 km Northeast of Bhadarwah, India. Initial reports state that some buildings have suffered minor damages. There are no reports of anyone getting hurt for now.

A few hours later around 2:49 pm, another earthquake of a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale was measured in the same area. The depth of the earthquake is said to be 10 km underground and the epicenter of the earthquake is around 6 km North of Bhadarwah, India.

Yesterday, a low intensity earthquake of 4.3 on the Richter scale was also felt in the same area of Bhadarwah and neighboring areas of Doda district.
