Two Trains Collide in Mathura

More than 10 people are feared to have lost their life as the Goa Express rammed a stationary Mewar Express near Mathura on Wednesday ( 21st October, 2009) morning.
The accident took place at around 4 a.m. between Mathura and Vrindavan stations. While early reports put the number of casualties at 15, about 40 to 50 people are trapped inside a crushed unreserved bogey of the Mewar Express.

Northern Railway has cancelled the Agra Nizamuddin inter-city express and diverted a few other trains which included the Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express for Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh Express and Karnataka Express. They are being diverted via Tundla.

As many as 6 trains have been diverted and 5 trains cancelled. The 2909 Bandra-Nizamuddin Express, 2723 AP Express, 2627 Karnataka Express, 9325 Indore-Amritsar Express, 2951 Mumbai Rajdhani and 2192 Jabalpur-Delhi Express have been diverted. Agra-Nizamuddin Intercity Express 4211 stands cancelled.
