Rajasthan being a major tourist haunt, is easily accessible. Airways is an option for hundreds and thousands. Though Sangener Airport, located in Jaipur is the sole international airdrome that the state can boast of, you can travel to Rajasthan by alighting at any of the four metropolis and board a Jodhpur or a Udaipur bound flight. New Delhi, situated at a distance of about two hundred sixty kilometers from the Pink City, houses the nearest airport. A plethora of flights ply between New Delhi and Rajasthan. With the tourism industry bursting at the seams, both national and domestic airlines are jumping on to the bandwagon and looking to up the ante. Indian Airlines that ruled the Indian skies for decades had to embark on a complete make over mould in order to be a force to reckon with in the hey days of mushrooming inexpensive private airlines. So you can pick and choose from either Indian flights or Jet Airways flights.

You can board direct Indian flights to Jodhpur, Jaipur and Udaipur form the capital metropolis of New Delhi. Jet Airways flights plying between Delhi and Jaipur lasts for a little more than an hour. Return flights take up about forty five minutes. While a Jet flight touches down upon the history dotted Jodhpur and Udaipur in a little more than an hour, a journey to Udaipur, after a halt at Jaipur, encompasses a period of a couple of hours. A short flight, lasting for about forty-five minutes, will take you back to New Delhi from Jaipur. Return flights from Jodhpur and Udaipur to New Delhi, occupies a period of about a little more than an hour. The flight scheduled for New Delhi, with a halt a Udaipur, will however, take you a little more than two hours.

There are no direct flights plying between Kolkata and Rajasthan. You can alight at either Delhi or Mumbai in order to reach Rajasthan. A flight from Kolkata to Jaipur, through Mumbai, takes up about a little more than five hours. The same holds true for a return flight from Jaipur to Kolkata through Mumbai. A flight spanning five hours will take you to Jodhpur from Kolkata, inclusive of a halt at Mumbai. It will take you about six hours and seven hours respectively to reach Kolkata from Jodhpur, through New Delhi and Mumbai. There are Jet Airways flights scheduled for Rajasthan from the technopolis of Bangalore. Flights flying to Udaipur from Bangalore, through New Delhi and Mumbai spans a period of seven and six hours respectively. The return flight takes up about a little more than four hours, with halts either at Mumbai and Delhi. Travel enthusiasts with destination Jaipur can alight either at Mumbai. The entire journey from Mumbai spans over six hours. Return flights from the Pink City, through either Mumbai or Delhi, takes up about seven hours and four hours respectively. A journey to Jodhpur, with a halt at either Mumbai or Delhi, take up about six hours and five hours respectively. While a return flight to Bangalore, with a halt at Mumbai, takes up more than five hours, a flight through New Delhi will take you about six hours.

Domestic airports cater to the requirements of passengers willing to board Rajasthan bound flights. You should reach the airport at least an hour before the scheduled slot. Twenty and thirty kilograms of luggage, for economy class and business class passengers, respectively, is the permissible limit. Expect thorough checking at the entrance.
