Built in 1890 by Raja Man Singh Govind Dev Ji Temple is one of the most frequented tourist's destinations in Jaipur. Situated in the marvelous City Palace complex of Jaipur, the temple is dedicated to Govind Dev Ji (Lord Krishna). The lovely temple is a beautiful melange of architectural inspirations. Etched in red sandstone, the marvelous shrine cuts a comely picture.
The ardent worshippers most of who come from miles away cannot take their eyes off the idols of Lord Krishna and Radha together. The 'aartis' or prayers and delicious 'bhogs' along with the continuous chants of Jai Govind promise nothing but an ethereal exhilaration that is beyond worldly charms.
The holy occasion of Janamashtmi ( the birth of Lord Krishna) calls for colorful celebrations. Hundreds and thousands of devotees queue up to pay homage to the presiding diety.
