The Vishram Ghat in Mathura is one of the most important ghats as the traditional parikrama starts and ends at this place. The parikrama is the circumambulation of all the major religious and cultural places of Mathura. As per the legend, Lord Krishna rested at the Vishram Ghat after killing Kansa.
The Vishram Ghat is bordered with beautiful temples such as the Mukut Temple, Neelkantheshwar Temple, Yamuna-Krishna Temple, Radha-Damodar Temple, Langali Hanuman Temple Murli Manohar Temple and Narasimha temples. Shri Chaitanya, the great Vaishnava Saint's baithak is situated very close to the ghat. During the evening there is a beautiful sight on the ghat as aarti is held and little oil lamps are floated on the river. The reflection of thousands of little oil lamps on the flowing river set a splendid sight.
