Tura at Meghalaya is one of the finest hilly regions in India. Tura offers a spectacular view of the wide mountain area with rivers flowing aside. The nearest airport and railway station to Tura in Meghalaya is Guwahati from where you have to take a bus to Shillong and from there you can take up a taxi or bus to Tura. The road network of Meghalaya is well developed so you can take up any Meghalaya Road Transport bus to reach Tura.

Tura in Meghalaya extends exquisite locales for sightseeing which includes the following :
  • William Nagar: It is the head quarters of East Garo Hills District and is a beautiful place surrounded with dense vegetation and river Simsang.

  • Siju Caves: These caves are made of limestone and attracts tourist visits because of the creation of stalactites and stalagmites which look very similar to Bkue Grotto in the Isle of Capri. The place is sited near Naphak Lake and Simsang game Reserve.

  • Balpakram: Enjoy the thrilling experience at National Wildlife Park in Balpakram where it is believed that ghosts of the dead visit it before leaving for their final journey. The park is said to be the home of the dead.

  • Rongrengiri: The place bears a historical significance as it was the last battle ground where the Garos fought with the British. The place is only 79 kilometers away from Tura Meghalaya.

  • Naphak Lake: You can enjoy fishing at this lake which is 119 kilometers away from Tura at Meghalaya.
The best time to visit Tura of Meghalaya is between October to March when you can enjoy the cheerful weather of the hilly area along with the colorful flora all around.
