Saiha is also known as Siaha. It is a census town in the district of the same name in Mizoram, a state in the northeastern part of India. It is a business center for the Mara tribe in the state and the people of Myanmar, which is located quite closely.
About Saiha Government
Saiha government refers to the headquarters of the Mara Autonomous District Council. It is one of the sovereign district councils in the state of Mizoram and is situated in the south central region of the state. In spite of the fact that the residents of the town call it Siaha, most of the people of Mizoram know it as Saiha. The expression "Saiha" has originated from the Lushai language.
Saiha functions as the administrative center of the district. Following Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram and Lunglei, it ranks as the third biggest town in the state.

The mean altitude of the town is 2391 feet (729 meters). The coordinates of the town are 22.48° North and 92.97° East.
Demographic features of Saiha
The population of the town is 19,731 and this is according to the information provided by the census conducted in the country in 2001. The inhabitants of the town comprise 52% men and 48% women.The mean literacy rate of the area is 79%, which is more than the countrywide mean of 59.5%. Literacy among women is 77% and literacy among men is 80%. Around 16% of the number of people in the town is below 6 years. The town is the most developing town in the state. The statistical handbook of Mizoram 2008 demonstrates the area features a population of 29,275 in 2008 in opposition to 19,731 in 2001.

Mizoram state is made up of eight districts and Saiha District is one of them. It is edged by Lunglei District to the north and northwest, by Myanmar to the south and east, and by Lawngtlai District to the west. The district covers a territory of 1399.9 km2. Most of the people living in the district belong to the Mara tribe. There is also a sovereign district council meant for them, which is known as Mara Autonomous District Council. The council consists of Tuipang and Saiha, the two R.D. Blocks. The Sangau block is mostly populated by the Lai tribe. The Sangau block forms a portion of the Lai Autonomous District Council.Language
