Mizoram showcases an array of exotic locations, ranging from enchanting valleys to scintillating mountains to rolling hills. Phulpui Grave, Sibuta Lung, Phawngpui, Pangzawal, Mangkahia Lung and Tualchang are some of the important locations that add charm to
sightseeing in Mizoram.
Among the major sites for sightseeing at Mizoram are:
Sibuta Lung - Sibuta Lung, located about 20 kilometers from Aizwal, is a memorial stone was erected about 300 years ago by the Palian chief. Sibuta Lung is related to a story of unrequited love. Sibuta Lung was the adopted son of a Palian chief, who was jilted by a girl. Mad with anger, Sibuta put Darlai, a beautiful girl, in a pit and had a memorial erected for himself.
Phawngpui - Situated close to Burma border, Phawngpui is famous for rhododendron and orchids. Phawngpui is the highest mountain of Mizoram and is about 2165 meters in height. It is also known as the Blue Mountain.
Mangkahia Lung - Mangkahai Lung was erected in 1700 AD. Mangkahai Lung is the memorial stone situated at Champhai in the district of Aizwal. The memorial was built in the memory of Mangkahia Lung, the chief of the Ralte tribe.
Memorial of Chinngpui - Memorial of Chinngpui is located between Chinngpui village and Baktawng. It is a memorial stone built in the memory of a beautiful woman called Chinngpui. Memorial of Chinngpui is a tribute to the love story of Chinngpui and Kaptuanga.
Thangliana Lung - It is memorial stone situated at Demagiri. The stone is constructed in the memory of T H Lewin, the first British to reach Mizoram. Thangliana Lung is one of the famous locations of sightseeing in Mizoram.
