About Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon

The king of comedy Kapil Sharma, who is ruling hearts in India, has made a grand entry in Bollywood with his much-awaited debut – Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. In his first movie, he has shared the screen with not one or two but four actresses. Director duo Abbas Mustan, who are known for making suspense thriller movies, have taken a new route for the very first time by taking the comic genre as a theme for their new flick. Definitely, Kapil is the main attraction of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and is popular for his stand-up comedy, inherent comic timing and spontaneous one-liners. Kapil has been promoting his film throughout his show “Comedy Nights with Kapil’, ever since he signed it. Let’s see will the family audience give him thumbs up or not?

Plot

The story of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is about Shiv Ram Kishan Kumar (Kapil Sharma) who is married to three different women, Simran (Simran Kaur Mundi), Juhi (Manjari Fadnis) and Anjali (Sai Lokur) with three different names. It is not that he is a playboy but gets married to these three women accidentally. Interestingly, all three wives live in the same building but none is aware that the husband of all three is the same person. The story takes a turn when he plans to get married to his girlfriend Deepika (Elli Avram) but his wives get to know this and what happens next is what the movie is about.

Performances

Kapil definitely outshines with his comedy acts. Delivering the comic scenes and funny punch lines was definitely a cakewalk for him. The entire plot revolves around him; but surely it is not going to be easy for Kapil to carve a niche in the film industry. He will have to work hard to improve his acting skills; his discomfort was clearly visible, especially in romantic and emotional scenes. It will be actually difficult for him to become the next Govinda of Bollywood, as Govinda was a great dancer and a power packed performer in displaying romance and emotions; the traits that Kapil is lacking right now.

The three actresses who have played the role of his wives – Simran, Manjari and Sai – have given reasonable performances on their part and done justice to their roles. Sharat Saxena and Supriya Pathak who have played the role of Kapil’s parents were good in their limited roles. Elli Avram is not much seen in the movie; and it seems the director has only used her to be featured in two songs and some countable scenes.

Varun Sharma, who has played the role of Karan, a lawyer and Kapil’s friend in the movie, has an inbuilt comic flair in him. He plays the role of a loyal friend who always helps him get of troubles. He was the perfect fit for the role and has given an awesome performance. His dialogues and punch lines bring ultimate laughter to the audience. Arbaaz Khan, who plays the role of a deaf don in his small appearance in the movie, will amuse you.

Directors Abbas-Mustan have tried their hands on comedy for the very first time and their direction is full of loopholes. Although, comedy is supposed to be enjoyed but the audience also expect some logic. The entire plot of the movie runs on illogical path. The plot which talks of a man living with his three wives on different floors of the same building and his wives never get to know this fact is entirely illogical.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon Music

The music of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is composed by multiple music directors. There are nine songs in the album; out of which some are peppy and catchy and will surely be included in the playlist of the DJs. ‘Jugni Peeke Tight Hai’,‘DJ Bajega to Pappu Nachega’ and ‘Bam Bam’ are some such numbers. With this movie, Kapil has not only made an entry in Bollywood as an actor, but has also made his playback singing debut. The songs are good but some look unnecessarily stuffed.

What’s Good?

The biggest plus point of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoonis that it keeps you entertained throughout. Yes! You will definitely keep laughing in the entire movie. Kapil is not only the main lead of the film but he definitely carries the entire movie on his shoulders. Varun’s jokes on science and Newton are really hilarious. The repetitive one-liner by one of the wives of the lead ‘Bhagwan Sabko Tumhare Jaisa Pati De’ is an underlined pun which is sarcastic, funny and highly amusing.

What’s Bad?

The movie is surely far from perfection. It lacks logic from the beginning till the end. Actors should have delivered a much powerful  performance. The fact that the man is allowed to marry three women and then also gets married to the fourth indicates that the directors have forgotten that polygamy is illegal in India. The movie at times will give you a feeling that you are watching an extended episode of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’.

Verdict

If you are a real fan of Kapil and love his comedy then this will surely make you laugh. Go and watch this movie with your family this weekend to have a laughter ride.
