A unique blend of architectural excellence and religious beliefs define the Fatehpur Sikri. This monument was built by Akbar to honour Sheikh Salim Chishti, a great Sufi Saint. Fatehpur Sikri was the Capital of the Mughal Empire for over 15 years. Located near Agra, Fatehpur Sikri assures an experience that one will always treasure. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an ancient city, which was once deserted for sixteen long years.

Fatehpur Sikri houses mosques, palaces and courtyards, each of which has a fine detailed architectural style that will surely surprise you. Most of these are built in red sandstone.

  • Beware of touts selling items in the name of charity. Politely ignore them.
  • You will have to hire a bus or cab from the parking area to reach the monument.
