Day 68 – Ludhiana to Kiratpur Sahib, Punjab (Kanyakumari to Leh cycling)

Manali will take time

After a gap of too many days & too much rest which finally build up my torn muscles, I decided to leave for Kiratpur Sahib from where Himachal Pradesh border is near. As I ws cycling after so many days, I thought it would be a little difficult but my average speed was good.

I took Neelon-Ropar canal route for reaching Kiratpur Sahib from Ludhiana which was quite shady than the highway with canal running beside me for almost 40-45 kilometers. Road was broken at some places in between on this route and I had to cycle real slow.

Whenever any vehicle used to pass by, it flew dust in the air. When I reached Kiratpur Sahib, I found out that my cycle was all dusty and brown in colour, got most dirty on this route than on any other during this whole tour. It was asking for a good cleaning.

Now I started to see Manali distance on road and I remembered my time in Kerala when the roads showed me Mumbai distance, where I wanted to reach, like 1200 kilometers from there. I realized I had cycled too far. This thing never came in my mind before.

I crossed few bridges over canals and tributeries of Sutlej River which was quite scenic. I reached Kiratpur Sahib in 5 hours and 50 minutes cycling a distance of 98 kilometers.

I was stoked that I crossed my 04th thousand kilometers mark and I have cycled a total distance of 4,052 kilometers from Kanyakumari. I could see Himachal Pradesh mountains calling me and now my real stamina test will start. I will endure anything but I will cycle up there.
