Dilli Haat INA in New Delhi: Location, Entry Ticket Price, Timing

Dilli Haat INA
Colourful ambience and radiant sight of blending cultures at Dilli Haat

With a modest entry fee, Dilli Haat invites all for an aesthetic experience away from the mayhem of New Delhi. This ethnic, outdoor market is located near the INA metro station. With an aim to encourage rural craftsmen from across the country to exhibit their talent and creativity, Dilli Haat was first opened in 1994. It is run by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation.

One can experience the uniqueness of this place instantly after stepping into the Haat. The colourful ambiance and radiant sight of blending cultures from all over India are convincing and therefore, it would not be incorrect to address it as ‘Mini India’.

If you are an avid shopper and handicrafts/handlooms fascinate you, then Dilli Haat is a place for you. From clothing to accessories to home décor products and artifacts, there is a variety of all. Though prices for most of the products are high, it is always good to experiment with one’s bargaining skills while shopping, though a few shops here also have fixed prices. Also, you may find many of the products available in Dilli Haat in other marketplaces of Delhi, while other crafts here are sold directly by the craftsmen at different states’ stalls. Most of the shops here are permanent, others are fortnightly exhibited by different sellers. Interestingly, some of the artisans here may also share the secret of their art, if one insists.

Experience the flavours of the country in the variety of cuisines available at the food stalls of Dilli Haat. I tried the south Indian cuisines from the Tamil Nadu stall and the Amritsari Naan at the Punjabi stall as a feast for my taste buds but there is a wide option among Maharashtrian, Rajasthani, Assamese and other varieties of food available at their respective states’ stalls.

Live dance and music performances are also held in the evening to lure visitors. Special promotional shows and exhibitions are also conducted at the exhibition hall. Visit the Dilli Haat on a summer evening or in winter during day time for a comfortable experience.

Do experience this ‘Mini India’ or Dilli Haat on your next visit to Delhi!
