Fun and Leisure in Water

Fun-and-Leisure-in-Water

Ever wondered why most of the popular amusement parks of southern India are located in Kerala? Perhaps, it is because the lush green and beautiful state makes for a naturally attractive tourist destination. So in continuation with our amusement park travel guides, here’s another one of the best water parks of India -Dream World Water Park in Chalakudy, near Thrissur City. Not only is it one of the favourites in this part of the country, Dream World Water Park is also one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. Operating for over 15 years now, it is of little wonder that the park has registered a footfall of over 1 crore visitors.

About Dream World

The idea of setting up a water park of this scale in Kerala came up in 1998. Seven leading business honchos of Thrissur and Eranakulam districts came together and formed a partnership that would lay the foundation for the establishment of the Dream World Water Park. The park was inaugurated in 2000. Its proximity to some of the most beautiful natural waterfalls of Kerala – the Athirapilly Falls and the Vazhachal Falls makes it a place of breathtaking beauty.

Dream World Water Park has made a name for itself, not only as a centre for enjoyment, but also as a one of the safest amusement parks in the country. It has received the ISO9001-2008 certification for Quality Management, the ISO 14001-2004 certification for Environment Protection, and the OHSAS 18001-2007 certification for Health and Safety.
