Kanyakumari to Leh Solo Cycling Expedition

February 22, 2014
Kanyakumari to Leh

I am walking my dream. hmm… You can cycling

Hey everyone, I am Yogesh Kumar. I thought of introducing myself a li’l bit before I take you with me from Kanyakumari to Leh through my daily posts on this blog. I had this long pending dream of cycling from Kanyakumari to Leh & I never gave up on it because I am a believer and I knew someday I would definitely do it. I think that whatever a person sets his/her mind to, anything can be achieved.

Yes, I am starting on my Kanyakumari to Leh solo cycling expedition from tomorrow (22nd February, 14). I did my graduation from Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi from 2009-2012. Post that, I worked as a sales executive in Make My Trip, Gurgaon and didn’t quite like my desk job there. So I finally decided to quit my job to pursue what I really love to do. I went for my Advance Mountaineering Course then to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling and returned home only after 3 months, having backpacked complete Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland (witnessed Hornbill festival), Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya and West Bengal. I got “A” grade in my Advance Mountaineering Course and have been recommended to participate in mountaineering expeditions. I did my Basic Mountaineering Course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. I have given myself this dream of climbing Mt. Everest by May, 2015 last year itself.Have a look at my cycle.

Kanyakumari to Leh

This one would go with me from Kanyakumari to Leh

I want to go to North Pole & South Pole and do seven summits. I love reading about places and that is how they have been added to my knowledge. I always marvel how a place would be like and prepare my mind to go and visit it someday. I want to travel the complete terrain of this planet and see the lifestyle of people by getting involved in their activities. I believe that not a single person should go to sleep hungry and first work his way for food in the morning. Always look at other people the way you would want others to look at yourself. Always be compassionate towards others feelings and help others whenever possible. It’s always possible. Live through your life happily, with a calm and peaceful mind. You will realize the difference. It is fool proof and tested by me. Be ready to get into your discomfort zone if you really want to be successful. Travel and Explore. Life is not meant to be passed at a single place and doing same stuff daily negligently. Believe in yourself and go ahead.

You can read my daily experiences and feelings about my trip here and please leave your valuable comments so that I can improve upon it. I am expecting to reach Leh by May end. All the dates and pitstops have been planned. I have put in a lot of time and effort in planning this expedition. So join me on this remarkable journey starting tomorrow.

Thank you and have a nice day.

From where did u get the money for food, cycle maintenance, night shelter and for other important stuff???? Are you getting the financial support from ur parents? If not, then howcome u manage this? What is the goal of ur life? I mean this way, a person can manage his marriage life..so how u deal with this situation? I would love to get answers of there as m curious about knowing the life of a biker n blogger.
