Wonderla in Chennai

In September 2015, the Tamil Nadu government held a grand Global Investors’ Meet hoping to invite a grand scale of investment into the state. One of the key outcomes of this meet was a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Wonderla Holidays management and the state government officials. According to the MoU a new Wonderla amusement park will be built in outskirts of the state capital, Chennai, within the next three years. With a budget of a whooping INR 300 crore, this Wonderla is set to become the most entertaining of the three and is to be built over a space of 55 acres.

Chennai is one of India’s top cities when it comes to amusement parks. The city is home to some of the best amusement parks in the country including Kishkinta, VGP Universal Kingdom, VGP Aqua Kingdom, Queens Land, EVP World, MGM Dizee World, and Dash N Splash Water Park. The new Wonderla, however, promises to outdo them all.
