Legislature of Nagaland

The Legislature of Nagaland is controlled by the Legislative Assembly of the state and plays a monumental role in the Nagaland Government and Politics. The speaker presides over the proceedings of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The present speaker, Mr. Kiyanilie Peseyiee is assisted by Mr. Eshang Pangteang Pangteang who holds the office of the Deputy Speaker. The constitutional head of Nagaland is the Governor, a post currently held by Mr. K. Sankaranarayan.

The Members of legislative Assembly are the elected representatives from various constituencies of Nagaland. There are 60 Assembly constituencies in Nagaland. The secretary of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly is Mr. Benjamin Newmai. The present chief minister of the state is Mr. Neiphi U Rio. The members of the assembly are mentioned below:
