The Lakshadweep islands are the smallest Union Territory of India and only ten islands of the group are inhabited. These islands are the north most out of the Lakshadweep- Maldives-Chagos group of islands, which happen to be the tops of a vast undersea mountain range in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. |
