Sanchi is a small village in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. Located 46 km North East of Bhopal, Sanchi is the site of several Buddhist monuments dating from the 3rd century BCE to the 12th century CE, making it one of the most important places of Buddhist pilgrimage.
