JSS Public School Ooty

JSS Public School, Ooty was established in the year1991. One can reach the school campus which is in Theetukal, via Ooty Lake. It is a co-educational English medium school with residential facilities situated in the peaceful and beautiful mountains of Ooty in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. JSS Public School in Ooty is an important division of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which has its headquarters at Mysore.

JSS Public School is partially residential as both boarders as well as day scholars can study in the school. There are classes from Standard 1 to Standard 12, in the school. The school has received affiliation from the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), the State Board (Tamil Nadu) and IGCSE (Cambridge University).

The school takes very good care of the children and closely monitors their educational and emotional development. There are separate Dormitories for boys and girls in the school. There is a dorm-master who administers the health and academic progress of the students. While the matron-in-charge looks after the other day to day work like cleanliness and laundry.

JSS Public School in Ooty encourages all students to participate in games and sports. There is a huge playgroubd where students can play badminton, tennis, Football, volley ball, Basket ball and golf. The students of the school are divided into four houses Prithvi, Jala, Agni and Vayu. Inter house competitions are organized to excel the children in all fields. They are encouraged to indulge in extra-curricular activities like trekking, sculpture, photography, horse riding, music etc.
