Nazareth Convent School


Nazareth Convent School is an English Medium school located in Ooty at St. Mary's Hill. The administration of the school is managed by the Sisters of the 'Franciscan Missionaries of Mary'. They believe and follow the mission of Christ to bring 'Life in all its fullness'. The schools are a powerful medium for empowering women and uplifting their social status. The school is affiliated to the Board of 'Indian School Certificate of Secondary Education' (ICSE), Delhi.

The Nazareth Convent School in Ooty was established on July 16, 1875, by Mother Mary of the Passion. The school is open to both boarders as well as day scholars. The main aim of the School is to make serious efforts to give good quality education influenced by the spiritual principles Nearly 150 students study in the school who have come from various parts of India and abroad. The children are looked after very well by the school authorities.

There are dormitories for junior students and separate individual cubicles for senior students. The kitchen of the school serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food in the dining room. The Food that is served wholesome, and is prepared hygienically.

The Nazareth Convent School provides excellent academic facilities. It has several well trained and experienced teachers. It has well equipped laboratories for Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. There are separate libraries for seniors and juniors students to inculcate reading habits in them. The class rooms of Nazareth Convent High School are large, spacious, well lit and airy. Each class has the strength 30 pupils to develop relationship between teachers and students.
